Current MVP privacy principles

Privacy without a detour.

DiskClue is designed to inspect storage on your Mac, not to collect it.

What stays local

Scan results, file paths, filenames, file sizes, and scan history stay on the device. The current MVP has no account, backend, analytics SDK, or crash-reporting SDK.

Permissions

A normal home-folder scan skips known macOS privacy-controlled libraries to avoid surprise consent prompts. Choosing a protected folder explicitly may require macOS permission to inspect that folder.

Cleanup

DiskClue starts read-only. Supported cleanup actions require confirmation and move selected files to the macOS Trash rather than permanently deleting them.
