What is taking up so much space on my Mac?

It can be a mix of applications, caches, downloads, developer tools, backups, local models, and personal files. DiskClue scans selected locations and groups the files it finds into clear categories.

What is System Data on macOS?

macOS uses this broad label for many kinds of storage. DiskClue does not claim to decode every system-managed byte; it explains the evidence it can safely inspect in your selected scan location.

Is DiskClue safe?

Scanning is read-only. The MVP only proposes supported cache and log cleanup, requires confirmation, revalidates items, and moves selected files to Trash instead of permanently deleting them.

Does DiskClue upload my files?

No. The current MVP has no account, backend, analytics SDK, or file upload. Scan data and history remain on your Mac.

Can DiskClue completely uninstall Mac applications?

Not yet. DiskClue can currently analyze application footprints. Complete app removal is planned future work and is not presented as an available feature.

Does it work on Apple silicon and Intel Macs?

Yes. Internal builds are universal for Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and DiskClue supports macOS 14 or later.

Can I scan an external drive?

You can choose an accessible folder on an external drive. Default home scans stay within the selected volume boundary to keep results predictable.

Is DiskClue free?

Public pricing has not been announced. The site will show clear terms before public download is available.
